Website requests

Railway hosts this website. Like other hosting providers, it processes request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and timestamps to deliver and operate the site. We do not operate customer accounts, checkout, public file uploads or a reader database.

Optional Google Analytics

On the public website, we use your approximate country to decide whether to ask permission before loading Google Analytics with measurement ID G-H34JC8V2SB. In consent regions, Analytics stays off until you allow it. Elsewhere it is enabled by default, and you can turn it off through Analytics settings in the footer. Google receives usage information to help us understand article readership and website engagement. Google Analytics may store cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration.

The country check uses a local IP-country database on our server. We do not send your IP address to a location service or request your device’s precise location. If we cannot determine your country, we ask permission first. IP location is approximate and can reflect a VPN or network provider’s location.

Our pageview configuration omits query strings and fragments. We do not send your email address or a customer profile to Analytics. A Global Privacy Control signal is treated as declining analytics. Local previews do not load Analytics.

Your explicit choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, when available, for up to 180 days. You can change it below or through the footer. Declining after acceptance disables collection, removes the Analytics cookies accessible to this site and reloads the page when the choice can be saved. Regional default-on behavior is never stored as your explicit consent. It does not delete information already received by Google.

Search and correspondence

Article searches are processed by this website and can appear in ordinary hosting request logs. Do not enter sensitive information into the search box. If you email us about an article, your email provider and ours process that correspondence. Include only the details needed to understand the request.
